I never knew that many of you who graduated the year I did but for those of you I did here I am. Rebellious and an outcast often referred to as a freak, my desturbing, violent childhood and shyness did not prevent me from enjoying my life or from becoming just as successful as those known back then as jocks. I continue to live a happy life with my only son now 13 in Gold Canyon AZ. Check the band I play with on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/garfather. Yep I never stopped playing my drums and became a very successful computer nerd.

Comment: Greetings 1978 Fairmont East Alums!

While 1978 seems like a lifetime ago, in many ways it seems like yesterday.  Thank you to everyone who had a hand in putting this website together.

Following high school, I received a four-year Naval ROTC scholarship to attend Miami Miami University (Ohio) where I graduated with a B.S. in Business and a commission as a Naval Officer.  The navy trained me to fly as a Naval Flight Officer, Tactical Coordinator and Mission Commander onboard the P-3 anti-subamarine warfare aircraft flying missions around the world.  Intense, but fun!

I landed in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area while still on active duty to teach NROTC students at Marquette University where I met met and married Karen in 1990.  For some unknown reason (yeah right), she wasn't interested in the Navy lifestyle, so I transferred to the reserves and completed my 20 years of service to my country.

My passion for the world of financial planning next led me to start my own advisory business from scratch and successfully grow it over the next 12 years.  However, the birth of my son, Nick, in 1998 was my greatest joy and biggest success!

Fate led me to my next phase in life as Executive Director of the Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) Corporate Training Center and Manager of the WCTC Small Business Center located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin where I serve corporate clents and aspiring entrepreneurs.  There is nothing more fun than helping clients from all walks of life find business success.  Success is never far behind when you discover what you're truly passionate about and mix in the right amount of drive, determination and effort.  Passion without commitment is just a hobby!

I'm confident that Fairmont East alums are out there conquering the world and I'm proud to have been a part of the 1978 class!

Comment: Hi Gang,
30 years, huh? WOW, is all that I can say... I have lots of great memories from 30 years ago. Too bad I didn't know then what I know now. I am married with 4 boys of my own and 2 step-sons and a step-daughter, ranging in ages from 6 to 26 (as you can see in the picture). I am still doing the "cop" thing in Miamisburg, with less than a year to retirement. But, with all of these kids, who can retire?!! So, I'll keep doing this a few more years, God willing. I am married to a wonderful woman who helps me keep my sanity. Four of the five youngest boys are all into sports so we keep very busy year around. My oldest son is a Dayton Firefighter / Paramedic and my step-daughter is graduating this August with her Masters in International Law / Politics. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make the reunion as we have baseball play-offs, tournaments, and all-stars over the 4th. God Bless you all and drop me an e-mail when the opportunity arises.
